Entering into its 50th year of existence, the HORNET remains a pictorial record of change. Not only does it encompass student life at the university, the HORNET has also changed throughout the years. Gone are the days of a mere black and white yearbook featuring seniors. Gone, even, are the days of heavy, leather-bound volumes reaching 500 pages. Encased in the pages of today's HORNET is something newer. Fresher. Different. The current staff and current HORNET yearbook are shedding new light on Alabama State University and what it means exactly to be a student at this fine university. In it's 50th edition, the HORNET will highlight the changes which abound during those years frequently labeled as ‘the best years of your life' – the college years. The HORNET will remain on the forefront of college yearbooks and continue to bring you cutting edge design and vibrant photography. Although routine can prove useful, the HORNET would be shorting itself and you, our audience, if we never changed. Thus, keeping with our theme "Priceless," the staff has decided to include portraits of graduating seniors and underclassmen. This year's book will also contain a supplemental DVD, but its coverage will be expanded to include archives from The Hornet Tribune, as well as content from The Hornet Tribune Online. Last year, people marveled about at the 2006 HORNET. They said it phenomenal, but there is always room for improvement. This being said, the 50th edition will not only be the best ASU has seen, but also the best in the country. Despite our promises and despite our ideas, the fact of the matter is the HORNET exists for you - the students and the ASU community. You are our audience and the one we strive to impress. Our staff always aims to make the most out of the limited space we have and we welcome any comments and suggestions to further better the content of our publication.
